METAlliance is a collaborative community that involves itself in establishing techniques and technical standards in modern music recording. They will be holding a METAlliance Academy Event in Hollywood, March 20 & 21, at the famous Capitol Records studios.

“In Session with the Guys” attendees will be able to record live sessions and mix with the METAlliance founders on this weekend event. “We’re going to show you how to get a great tracking session going, how to get a drum sound; you’ll learn about microphone technique and how to get a great headphone balance,” said Ed Cherney.

The founders of METAlliance will be mixing and recording in the Capitol Records studios. Ed Cherney and Chuck Ainlay will be recording in Studio B, while Phil Ramone and Al Schmitt will record in Studio A (Musicians to be announced). Studio C is reserved for mixing, lead by Elliot Scheiner.
